How CalcNator handles unit conversion

Most converters use a shared base unit: the input is converted to the base and then converted to the requested output unit.

Temperature is handled separately because Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin require offsets as well as scale factors.

For measurements, keep the precision of the original data in mind. A converter can display many decimal places even when the source measurement was only approximate.
